Great to speak to you last night
thought I'd let you know how mummy's coping with the backpacker lifestyle
So we've rented an air-conditioned 4x4 to drive around - not exactly a
hardship except it drives like a tank
first day mum's in the country we drive for four hours straight from the
airport and show her the room she'll be sharing with Rich and I. In the
morning she could be seen walking round with a double sheet wrapped
around her chest and a great long train of cotton about 5 feet behind
her, as she fished out all the goodies she'd brought over from the UK
for us (thanks v. much for the wine - still haven't had it yet - we're
waiting for a good pudding moment!)
we've got roof tents on the 4x4 - it gets hot at night in Botswana so
mummy walks to the shower block in the middle of the jungle wearing just
a towel, gets wet and comes to bed. The sight of her climbing up the
ladder and into the tent with a towel only just covering her arse is
probably better not described.
today we're off to the dunes to take some piccies of sunsets/rises
every time mum's got her camera out in the last week it's been a bit of
a comedy moment. You can guarantee if the animal/bird stays around long
enough for her to go 'click', then she's forgotten to switch the damned
thing on, or it didn't focus or something. More often, just as she gets
it to her face the kudu or whatever turns it's back and has a shit.
gotta go - it's a 5 hour drive to the dunes.
loads and loads of love. Looking forward to seeing you in the new year
